 AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu expressed his great appreciation and respect to the Chinese Amateur Boxing Association for its efforts in promoting boxing and to the General Administration of Sport of China for its support of boxing as he addressed the audience at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Xinjiang Int'l Boxing tournament in China.
President Wu went on to say that the presence of AIBA officials indicated the full support of the tournament by AIBA and that boxers can be proud of boxing citing an ESPN report, which listed boxing as the toughest sport in the world.
Members of the audience, which included 107 boxers from 15 countries and officials of Chinese Central and Xinjiang government, delivered a heartfelt applause afterwards.
