AIBA welcomes new Chairman of English Boxing Association | 21.07.2012 | Just a few days before the beginning of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the International Boxing Association would like to welcome Mr Richard Caborn, a former Sports Minister of England, as the new Chairman of the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE).
AIBA President, Dr Ching-Kuo Wu stated: "This appointment will have a great importance in the future development of the sport of boxing in England. Mr Caborn's experience as Sports Minister will certainly shed new impetus to ABAE. AIBA and ABAE now enjoy close and cooperative relations".
In a letter sent on 20th July 2012 to Dr Wu, Mr Caborn declared: "I wish you every success in the forthcoming Olympic Games. I look forward to working with you and your esteemed colleagues at the Games and in the future in relation to the ongoing boxing issues".
