Mr Volodymyr Prodyvus appointed as AIBA Executive Committee Member | 21.07.2012 | On 25 April 2012, AIBA President, Dr Ching-Kuo Wu received a letter from the Ukrainian Boxing Federation stating that its Executive Committee decided to withdraw the nomination and support of Mr Igor Gaidamak as member of the AIBA Executive Committee.
Therefore, following the AIBA Statutes and since Mr Gaidamak was no longer fulfilling the eligibility criteria, the UBF EC's decision was respected and Mr Gaidamak removed from the AIBA EC.
In accordance with article 37.3 A) and B), AIBA President proposed to the EC the appointment of Mr Volodymyr Prodyvus, President of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation, in replacement of Mr Gaidamak. This nomination was approved unanimously.
Dr Wu stated, "I am very pleased to welcome Mr Prodyvus. He used to be a talented boxer and his passion and love for on our sport has no frontier. Ukraine is one of strongest countries in boxing and I am happy that it will keep on seating on our Executive Committee, contributing to the future developments of our sport".
